I’m passionate about volunteering and giving back. Well, ok, fine, I’m passionate about many things, but this is one that has been a consistent thread through my adult life.
I currently volunteer at The Life Center of Hernando County and spending time there has reminded me of what it was like when my two girls were little. How rewarding, and challenging, being a Mom can be. As a shelter for women and their children (from newborns to age 5), TLC strives to surprise our kids with new toys to enjoy year-round – and share for years to come.
Right now, The Life Center’s Annual Toy Drive is underway. The gifts not only light up Christmas for our current residents, they provide hours of happiness for little ones who become members of the TLC family in the future.
Play time is important to a child’s development, both in terms of learning and emotional well-being. It fosters an environment to spark and nurture their imagination and creativity.
